What is included?

(PLEASE NOTE that persons signed up with a camp organizer should check with their organizer what is included in their package as different camps cover certain things for their patrons).

The event fee for Dancehall Mecca includes all classes and events organized by the festival.

The only activities that would attract an extra charge is the Party Bus to Kgn ($20usd) and the entrance to Uptown Mondays ($1000jmd or 7usd).

The Dinner on The Beach also attracts an additional fee for the dinner and is an optional event ($30usd) but the beach after party is included.

Patrons are responsible for their transport to the festival, accommodations and meals, although we do provide assistance with all helping to get cheaper transport to and from the festival, discounted rates for accommodations at SandCastles and a discounted meal plan that provides lunch each day).

Are there DAY PASSES?

Yes. Please look out for flyer as to what each day will cost.

What does the DAY PASS include?

Day Passes include all the activities on that day with the exception of the activities listed above that are extra costs. Every other event and class is covered under the day pass.

How long does the LIVESTREAM last?

This year the links will last Two month after the date of your purchase.

SandCastles hotel and resort in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.

Can I join as a solo person without being a part of a camp?

Yes you can register directly with Dancehall Mecca by registering ok our website or emailing us with any questions?

Can I join one of the camps organized by one of your listed Camp Organizers?

Yes you can join a camp with any of our organizers and we can connect you with whichever you may be interested in joining to have an even more curated experience.

What is the cost of the accommodations?

Do you have male passes?

DANCEHALL MECCA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

When is it?

Dancehall Mecca World Championships is the final event of the festival week! Taking place the night of July 26th.

Where will it be held?

On the courts of Sandcastles Hotel located Main street Ocho Rios.

How do i submit to enter?

Email us at dancehallmeccaja@gmail.com with a picture of yourself (for flyer if chosen) and a video link showing your talent and skills. Also tell us where you are from or what country you will be representing!

How does the competition work?

There will be 8 participants in the International Competition and 8 participants in the Jamaican competition.

The battle begins with each dancer doing a 30 second freestyle showcase to a song of their choice. The judges will rank the top 4 from each side based on this exhibition in round 1.

Round 2 will have a random draw that puts the name selected for the top 4 against the names in the remaining 4 and we will have 4 Battles in this round.

Each person dancers for an eight count or approx 15 seconds and then the next person goes. After each person does this 3 times, the battle is over and we go to the judges for a winner.

The winner advances to the next round.

Round 3 will repeat this with the top 4 dancers who advanced from previous round.

Round 4 will be the finals with the top remaining 2 competitors and will go for 5 back and forths instead of three.

We then go to the judges one final time and then a winner is crowned!

What is the Prize for the Winner?

1st place gets $700usd

2nd place gets $300usd

Do i have to be signed up for the week of DHMF to compete in the competition on the final night?

No you can sign up just to compete independently.
