Day 1 of @dancehallmeccaja Dance Festival 2024 🌟🇯🇲 the official MECCA MEET & GREET

Starting with a bomb! 💣 with an epic combination class –

Day 2️⃣ is MECCA QUEENDOM at @dancehallmeccaja Dance Festival 2024 👑 starring two beloved Queens
🌟👸🏾@sarabandii and Queen of the Mecca 2024, @racquel_cautiion 👸🏾🌟🇯🇲

Day 3️⃣ of @dancehallmeccaja Dance Festival 2024 🌟🇯🇲 !

The day starts off with a new addition to our already packed line up with some relaxing Morning Yoga for those interested.
Then the Intensity goes up a notch as we move to 3 classes from 3 iconic Dancehall groups! 🙌

⛱️STREETS ON THE BEACH⛱️

Is on Day 4️⃣of @dancehallmeccaja as we bring the Streets of Kingston 🛣 to the beaches 🌊 of Ocho Rios so get ready!

We’ll start the day with our Beach Chill and then from there we will be shooting for the very first time an official Dancehall Mecca Dance Video where everyone is invited to take part in this unifying and history making choreography. 💥🥳

We’ll have a surprise Instructor 👤 soon to be announced and then the Legend @shellybellythedancingking takes center stage! 👑

Later that evening is our formal wear Dinner on the Beach! 👗👔
And then we end this full day with our Beach Party! ⛱️💃🕺

These Queens 👑 are all known for their Fiery Passion on and off the Dance floor so you know they will turn the heat up a notch on day 5! 📛

We’ll gather to watch a movie or documentary that highlights Jamaican culture and gather afterwards for a quick discussion.

So after we dance all day on the beach,  you know what’s next right? DINNER ON DI BEACH (an Elegant affair)!

Thursday Aug 8. DAY 4 of @dancehallmeccaja put on that fancy outfit and get ready to wine and dine and then Whine!

Dr L’Antoinette Stines presents…

A History of Women in Dance and Dancehall.
(From an Academic and an Experiential perspective)

Its our very first lecture at #DancehallMecca summer edition and you are in for a treat! 

Dr Stines is the first person to put Dancehall on a proscenium stage in Jamaica! 
She was choreographer for such Dancehall Legends as Shabba Ranks  as well as the very first show done by DHQ Carlene (Uptown meets Downtown).
Dr Stines also choreographed for the movie “Dancehall Queen”, “Baby Mother”.
Dr Stines has created the only Anglo- Caribbean technique in dance… which includes in it, Dancehall movement.

Dr Stines has worked with some of the most recognizable names in the industry. ️ From artistes to other dancers of whom she has inspired many from this generation. 

Believe me when I tell you she will have a lot to say and you don’t want to miss one moment of it

This will be historic!
